Another quantum leaper is Isagel, who actually encouraged me to start this blog. she has her own liberal thought space, though. Go there and read about what the Danish Dogma producer Mogens Rukov thinks about Ingemar Bergman. It was published in the Danish paper Politiken, but refused by the Swedish paper Dagens Nyheter. Why Quantum?
The Quantum mechanic theory has, more or less, taken over the old mechanical view of how our reality actually is working. It´s no longer merely billiard balls, where we know for Sure where they ends up on the Table, but instead talking about Uncertainty, Possibilities and Statistics.

Actually the assumption of the quantum theory is that it is the viewer of the billiard balls, (you and me), who influence where and how they ends up on the Table, and the really strange thing is that they maybe not any longer are balls at all, but something quite different! You, who have read the Hitch Hiker´s Guide to the Galaxy, might already have suspected that! They could actually have transformed themselves into whales or flower pots :-)

In a way the theory of these quanta, subatomic particles, says that we create our very own reality in our minds, our brain´s Table of contents, so to say. What does that really say? Maybe that we have to go through our old traditional view about our reality once again. And maybe also that we all create different realities of the simple reason that we are Different… and who has the right to establish what kind of reality that´s valid also for others? And still, though, we´re all living in One and the same universe, the giant sphere.

Why Sphere?
Empedocles, the ancient Greek philosopher described the nature of God as a circle whose centre was everywhere, and its circumference nowhere. Later on St. Augustine picked up the saying, and then came Voltaire and claimed the same thing. The Bible´s Isaiah said about this same God: have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; ...

Now the Sphere is just a 3-D model of the circle where the circumference is perfectly built upon a given center point. Because of this simple and perfect form which one can make in the sand with a scarlet thread and a stick, Plato thought about the circle as the most perfect of all forms in his abstract world of forms, and he imagined this circle or sphere to symbolically be projected in the physical world as the undivided original man, later on called Adam by the Jewish people.

Anyway, this original Sphere-man was splitted into to two halfs –a man and a woman, and so they spend the rest of their lives searching for its other missing half. Two numbers which are very related to the circle is number 7 and 22, because 22 divided by 7 is the first mathematical model of Pi ( 3,1415). It´s not exactly the pi value, but quite close, and in these ancient times it worked as a model in calculating the area of a circle.

So in this quantum reality, our own center of attention, i.e. the conscious mind, is the center which is really everywhere in this giant sphere, in this Holographic universe, where the circumference is nowhere, in other words, including everything. And maybe we really are those grasshoppers after all; making our random (?) quantum leaps from idea/locus to another for building consciousness, here a little, there a little, following that main red theme.

God, who is She anyway?
So, according to the quantum theories these subatomic quanta entangles the whole universe in a nonlocal and seemingly chaotic way. Albert Einstein argued against Niels Bohr that God reasonable cannot be a chaotic God, or as he once said: God doesn´t cast dice. Not until he met David Bohm, he thought he got the hang of the order of quantum physics. Bohm then presented his ideas that universe really has a nonlocal and implicate quantum level which he called the Enfolded order or the Matrix, which is the Mold that emanate our explicate and visible reality, which he called the Unfolded level.

Together with Karl Bribram, an American neurophysiologist who had by his own found out that our brains works in the same nonlocal and quantum way when storing information, Bohm constituted the Holographic Paradigm in the early eighties. The reason for its name is if that a holographic photography of an object that is taken with the help of a single laser, it create the same nonlocal and seemingly chaotic result of an object on a photographic plate.

This photo is taken without any focal lens and the result is an interference pattern that looks like pebbles thrown into a pond, one little here, and one little there: An entangled and chaotic pattern that looks like nothing until it once again is hit by a laser or any other strong light. Then the object appears again, but in a 3 D form, a simple illusion of the object. When this photographic plate or matrix is Broken to Shivers, every Single piece can project an image of the whole object.

So, the general idea behind the holographic quantum paradigm is that the implicate order, the Matrix of Universe, project this Maya illusion that we perceive as reality –The explicate order. The holographic model is of course just a model for our understanding, and the quantum reality is really a permanent Flow of quantum Exchange between the implicate and explicate orders, forever Birthing our (Un)known Universe. Therefore Bohm named it Holomovement, as a better description of this concealed reality.

Our brain´s Mensa (lat. for Mind, Intelligence and Table) Receives permanently this Quantum Flow, but it is likewise hidden by the workings of our ordinary dual consciousness that we name Logos, handling good/evil, beauty/ugliness, black/white etcetera.

Who knows, maybe it takes a forced and downright activation of our Lost intuitive Right Brain HemiSphere of Plato, to get access to this Quantum Mensa Flow. To get in touch with the Holy One of the Bush! Two books which really explains the holographic paradigm is "The Holographic paradigm and other Paradoxes". It´s an anthology compiled by Ken Wilber. An another is "The Holographic UniVerse", by Michael Talbot.

Why Ypsilon?
Ypsilon is the Greek name for the letter Y and was also the letter that Pythagoras cherished most. It symbolized two different paths: Virtue, the good or Positive charge, and Vice, the evil or Negative charge. It was in other words the positive or plus charge forged together with the negative or minus charge, and at the end it jointly, and red-hot, hurls down to the trapped traveller on planet Earth; Y is also the form/idea of how a vibrating/charged quantum string looks like. Now, according to the quantum String Theory every String has a different vibrational mode and that each vibrational state appears to be a different particle. The mass of each particle, and the fashion with which it can interact, are determined by the way the string vibrates. The string can vibrate in many different modes, just like a guitar string, or Apollo´s Lyre, can produce different notes. These strings splits and combine, the Y shape, which appears as particles emitting and absorbing other particles, giving rise to the known interaction between particles. In other words; these vibrating strings seems to have the purpose to make the quantum mechanic to work:

Besides that Pythagoras was so fascinated by the letter Ypsilon he cherished the thoughts about the Music of the Sphere. He experimented with lengthening and shortening of strings, to get different vibrations, and he thought as a mathematician, (Pythagoras´ proposition, you know), that every number correspond to a certain vibration in creation. It seems that Ypsilon is a nice symbol of these quantum strings, and the quantum reality over all! Still I wonder what Pythagoras, this great mathematician, would have said about the number 42?
